The Men's Shed along with the Monsignor McCarthy Family Resource Centre would like to invite you to our event for The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty this Friday 17th October at 11.30am which will be held at the playground in Battery Heights, Athlone.

We have constructed an art piece which will be unveiled at this event by the Municipal Town Mayor Frankie Keena. The piece introduces the issue of child poverty to illustrate the Irish statistics that 1 in 10 children in Ireland are at risk of poverty. The piece is an interactive table containing 10 plates which have an abacus play frame on each one, except one (this one to represent the one child in poverty).
