A walk saying no to extreme poverty
Ven 17/10/2014

This year, our organization Young Single Mothers Empowerment Group will be participating in a walk dubbed 'No to Extreme Poverty'  in order to celebrate the International Day for the Eradication of Extreme Poverty.  Also to commemorate people who have died because of poverty and insecurity in our country.

We are in the process of engaging youth groups and small local NGOs  to participate in the October 17th. Our  organization is planning to have a walk across the slums  and  give speeches. Participants will walk with empty plates to demonstrate poverty and will have people from extreme poverty share their stories.

The walk will end with speeches and some volunteers will  read letters from those in need to the Government.

We want to engage people to be aware of poverty and come up with solutions that are sustainable to people from humble backgrounds.
